Tofu UMAMI TOPPING Chili Flake Fries

Ingredients (For 4 servings)

Tofu (firm type) 400g
【A】 Soy sauce 1 Tbsp
Sugar 1/2 Tbsp
Mirin 1/2 Tbsp
Flour As needed
Beaten egg As needed
【B】 S&B UMAMI TOPPING Crunchy Flake Type Chili 100g 4 Tbsp
Flour 1 Tbsp
Olive oil As needed
Rice As needed
Cucumber (sliced) As needed
Red onion (sliced) As needed
Curly lettuce (cut into bite-size pieces) As needed
Chives (chopped) As needed

Directions

  1. Wrap the tofu firmly with a paper towel and place a weight about the same weight as the tofu. Let it sit for about 30 minutes to drain.
  2. Cut 【1】 into 4 x 4 cm pieces with a thickness of 1.5 cm.
    Combine 【A】 and mix with the tofu. Let it sit for 30 minutes. Combine 【B】.
  3. Wipe off the liquid from 【2】 and coat with flour.
    Dip the tofu into the egg and coat with 【B】.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan over low heat and put in 【3】.
    Fry the tofu in low heat until the surface is crisp. (Approx. 1 min)
  5. Put 【4】 on a plate, add rice and cucumber, and garnish with red onions, curly lettuce, and chives.
